ChargerCon is a free annual gaming and technology expo that is held on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).  ChargerCon 2017 will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, from noon to midnight in the UAH Conference Training Center. ChargerCon features video game and tabletop tournaments, cosplay contest, workshops, demos, a retro arcade, and free play areas for PC, console, tabletop, and handheld games.

The first ChargerCon was held in 2012 and grew out of massively popular LAN parties hosted by UAH’s Student Run e-Sports. ChargerCon has grown in scope and is now made possible with the support of both UAH organizations and community partners. Among the former are the Art Club, Charger Magic: The Gathering Team, Charger Studios, ChargerSmash, the Graphic Design Club, Pokemon League, Society for Strategy Games, Student-Run eSports, and UAH Intramural Sports; among the latter are 501st Legion, After Hours Game Dev, Mastermind Models and Miniatures, Pints & Pixels, Pixel Perfect, The Deep, and Women Who Code Huntsville.

ChargerCon is free and open to the greater community.  Some tournaments will have a buy-in, which will go toward prizes for the champions. More details about events and tournaments can be found on the schedule page.
